Haris Seferovic remarked on the importance of Real Sociedad opening the scoring in their Champions League contest with Lyon.
La Real can head into next Wednesday’s Play-off round second leg with two away goals to defend, thanks to Antoine Griezmann and Seferovic’s notable strikes at the Stade de Gerland on Tuesday.
For the Spanish side’s summer signing, Griezmann’s opening acrobatic effort was key to the 2-0 win.
“This was a very good game,” the striker enthused to reporters in Italian yesterday.
“It was very important to score first. Griezmann’s goal has given us wings.
“And mine has been for the squad. As soon as I shot I saw it was going into the net.
“Now we must endorse this 2-0 at Anoeta.”
