Yoann Gourcuff has acknowledged the level of Real Sociedad ahead of tonight’s fixture, but admits that ‘Lyon are used to playing in the Champions League’.
The French play host for the first leg of this Play-off round meeting on Tuesday night to determine final positions in UEFA’s premier competition proper.
“We face the tie with much enthusiasm, we want to do well,” enthused midfielder Gourcuff to reporters pre-match.
“The game is really important for the club. we are fine, we have recovered from our last match and are very motivated.
“We know well the characteristics of the Spanish teams. It will be a tough game against a team that had a great season last year. Technically, Real Sociedad are a good team and plays the ball very well.
“Our recent results have given us confidence. The thing to do is to manage this good trend and try to get through the tie. Lyon are used to playing in the Champions League.”
