Remi Garde has reflected on Lyon’s desire to continue their good start to the season against Real Sociedad and on the value of experience.
The Ligue 1 outfit have won their four competitive matches played so far in 2013-14 and have conceded just the one goal in the process.
“We are happy for what we have been doing so far, although we are not yet finishing games off,” admitted Garde to reporters in his pre-match briefing.
“The successive victories gave us a boost but let’s be realistic, we have yet to play a ‘complete’ match – we sometimes did well during one half, or a part of a match, but never during the entire game.
“We need to improve in the way we control the matches.
“I have had good responses from the young players, who are already gaining good experience. We are in a great dynamic. We must continue on this positive note.
“The experience is a base from which to have more tranquillity. We play to win, as everyone else does, and it's even more important given the squad is so young.
“But we will be in Europe if we progress through this tie or not.”
