Schuster unworried by Malaga defeat

Bernd Schuster said he was unworried about Malaga’s 1-0 defeat to Valencia at Mestalla and was happy with his side’s display.

Surprisingly, the German lamented that despite the result being ‘a shame’ he had allowed for Los Blanquiazules taking zero points from their opening three fixtures, with the next La Liga game against Barcelona at home followed by a trip to Sevilla.

“I legislated for us getting no points from the first three games, so I’m not worried and am happy with how we played. I expect us to do well against Barcelona next week.

“However, that’s not to say that I meant we would necessarily lose all three,” he hastened to add at the post-match Press conference.

“Today we deserved at least a point and did a great job of controlling our opponents, although we conceded a goal from one of our mistakes.

“I’m fully aware we need to improve on certain things, but Valencia make it difficult as they play against you in one-on-one situations,” he added.
