Madrid expecting full house for Raul

A capacity crowd is expected for next week’s Trofeu Bernabeu clash between Real Madrid and Al-Sadd.

Just 77 tickets remained unsold on Saturday morning for a game that will serve not only as Madrid’s presentation of their team in front of home fans, but also as a tribute to club legend Raul Gonzalez.

The former captain spent 16 seasons with Los Blancos before leaving to join Schalke 04 in July 2010 and moving to his current employers, Qatari-based Al-Sadd, two years later.

It will be the 36-year-old’s first return to the capital since his departure and it is planned that he will play one half for Al-Sadd and the other for his old club.

The game will be the 35th edition of the summer tournament named in honour of former President Santiago Bernabeu.
