Espanyol are interested in taking former Barcelona winger Jeffren Suarez to Cornella El-Prat.
Jeffren, 25, joined Sporting Lisbon two years ago for a reported €3.75m plus add-ons but it is believed he is not part of boss Leonardo Jardim’s plans for the 2013-14 campaign.
As a result, the Venezuela-born player, who was brought up in Tenerife, is looking for an exit from the Estadio Jose Alvalade and cross-city rivals Espanyol could be ready to grant him his wish.
Los Periquitos’ boss Javier Aguirre has been searching for a wide player to complement his squad before the start of the new campaign, with Jeffren understood to look favourably on a return to Catalonia.
According to Sport, the player’s agent said some days ago that it was more than likely his client would seek a move away from Portugal, having also become aware of interest from both Elche and Granada.
