Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed the club’s stance on David Luiz’s possible move to Barcelona.
The Catalans tabled a bid for the Brazil international at the beginning of August but Mourinho remains insistent the 26-year-old central defender is staying at Stamford Bridge.
“There is no possibility he will be leaving. He is a player we want to keep and he still has four years left on his contract.
“We like him here. He is an important part of this club and we will not be selling him at any price,” the Portuguese told BT Sport.
Despite Luiz renewing his existing deal with Chelsea, the rumours have persisted over the summer that the player himself is open to a transfer.
“I don’t know if he said that. What I can say is that he’s not leaving,” the former Real Madrid boss said emphatically.
