Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has reportedly made a complete u-turn on his future, and could now stay at Anfield.
The goalscorer insisted last week that the club had ‘broken a promise’ after they rejected a bid from fellow Premier League side Arsenal.
Real Madrid are also said to be interested in signing the 26-year-old, but the player is now rumoured to want to sign a contract extension.
“For now, due to all of the people’s affection [towards me], I will be staying,” he told El Observador.
GolTV reporter Martin Charquero also tweeted: “Luis Suarez confirms to me that he will not leave Liverpool.
“The support of the fans in recent weeks influenced his decision.
“Suarez sees it as likely that he’ll sign a renewal to the contract that binds him to Liverpool.”
Carlo Ancelotti’s side highlighted Suarez as a potential target earlier this summer, and could be once again if their protracted move for Gareth Bale continues to stall.
