Sacchi on Ancelotti & Bale

Former Real Madrid director Arrigo Sacchi has claimed that he is not surprised that the club moved to sign Carlo Ancelotti.

The former Paris Saint-Germain Coach left the French capital to join the Santiago Bernabeu side this summer.

And the ex-Milan and Italy boss has insisted that his countryman has long been admired by President Florentino Perez.

“Perez has wanted to sign Ancelotti for a long time,” he told Meridiano. “When I was at Madrid, he was on everyone’s mind.

“Madrid is a historic club – the most famous in the world.

“I just hope he does well because he is one of the best Coaches in the world.

“Carlo has a great character, is a good person and a good Coach.”

Sacchi then commented on the arrivals of Isco, Asier Illarramendi, and the potential signing of Gareth Bale.

“Isco and Illarra are very, very interesting.

“Madrid have always wanted to get good youth players, but it is even better that they are Spanish.

“Illarra is very important and Isco is pure talent.

“I think the Bale signing would be a commercial operation.

“Madrid have always wanted to sing a British player because of sponsorship.”
