Wolfsburg attacker Diego has conceded that he would love to return to Atletico Madrid.
The Brazil international spent the 2011/12 season on loan at the Rojiblancos, and there were reports that he could make a comeback this summer.
And despite that not materialising, the 28-year-old has admitted he would love to come back to the Spanish capital.
“Everybody knows that Simeone and I have a special relationship,” he told COPE. “Diego is one of the best Coaches in the world.
“It was a true pleasure working with him.
“But at the moment I am only thinking about Wolfsburg and doing well for them.”
“I am happy here and I want to do my best.
“I have a valuation and if Atletico aren't willing to pay that, then that's football.
“Everybody knows the love I have for Atletico, but at the same time, I'm happy in Germany.”
