Elche have signed Valenciennes midfielder Carlos Sanchez Moreno, despite late interest from Sevilla.
The Rojiblancos were said to be keen on signing the Colombia international after the departure of Gary Medel to Cardiff.
But even in the face of that competition, the newly-promoted side managed to fight off Unai Emery side’s advances and capture the 27-year-old.
Moreno impressed for the Ligue 1 club last term, playing in 30 games and scoring two goals.
