Reports in Belgium claim Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen is a possible Barcelona target as they seek to reinforce their defence.
The Het Laatste Nieuws insists Barca are interested in the 26-year-old centre-back and have even offered Spurs €27m in an attempt to take him to the Camp Nou.
It follows a series of rebuffs suffered by the Catalan giants after receiving a negative response from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Liverpool in their pursuit of Thiago Silva, David Luiz and Daniel Agger respectively.
Vertonghen, capped 48 times by Belgium, had an impressive debut season at White Hart Lane after his signing from Ajax for a reported €12.5m last summer and was on a list of targets drawn up by Barcelona last March.
Nonetheless, the newspaper claims the Londoners will turn a deaf ear to any overtures from Spain, with the player himself yet to go public on the matter.
