Nolito asks for Celta patience

Celta Vigo winger Nolito has asked for patience as new boss Luis Enrique tries to build his side before the start of the new season.

Nolito penned a four-year deal at Balaidos in the summer after spending the latter part of the 2012-13 campaign on loan to Granada from parent club Benfica, one of four signings made so far, and is aware things need to be taken one step at a time.

“This is a new project and we need to be given a little bit of leeway. Right now is the time to be relaxed about things and have confidence in the team, because this is just the beginning.

“The important thing is to see what happens at the start of the season,” he told a Press conference.

Enrique’s men have scored just one goal in four pre-season friendlies but Nolito is not unduly concerned and played down the matter.

“The team is training in the morning and evenings, so it’s quite normal that we won’t be fresh for matches, but let’s just relax.

“I trust the strikers in the squad and I’m sure this barren run is going to end once the League games get underway,” he concluded.
