Former Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol has explained why he chose to join Napoli during the summer.
The Spanish international moved to the Stadio San Paolo alongside fellow Madrid teammates Jose Callejon and Gonzalo Higuain, and admits he is looking forward to the new season with the Serie A outfit.
“I chose Naples because it is a city that lives for football and the fans here have great passion,” he told a Press conference.
“I can play in different positions but it will be up to [Rafa] Benitez where I play. I’ll just make myself available to the team.
“I think it’s going to be a very competitive League this year, with lots of good sides. “Napoli had a great season last time, so we’ll have to work together for that to happen again.
“Hopefully I can adapt to Italian football quickly with the help of my new teammates.”
