Raul Gonzalez’s return for the Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu has really got the Real Madrid fans excited – so much so that it collapsed the club’s website.
Real Madrid will entertain Raul’s current employers Al-Sadd in the prestigious encounter on August 22, and the demand for tickets is so great to see the former Los Blancos idol that when they were put on sale on Monday the website was unable to cope.
Ever since Madrid President Florentino Perez confirmed the opposition would be the Qatari club, fans have responded for what they consider will be a tribute to their former captain, who they feel did not say a proper goodbye when he left to join Schalke in July 2010.
By popular request, Raul is expected to play part of the match with Al-Sadd before swapping shirts for another stint as a Real Madrid player.
