Malaga back for Bendtner

Malaga are refusing to give up in their pursuit of Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.

The Danish international has spent the past two seasons on loan at Sunderland and Juventus respectively, with the Costa del Sol outfit involved in negotiations to bring him to La Rosaleda last month.

However, talks broke down as the Andalusians refused to bow to the player’s high wage demands.

Nonetheless, they have now rekindled their interest in the 25-year-old and may be prepared to sacrifice right-back and captain Jesus Gamez to get their man.

Reports in Spain claim Arsenal have already checked out 28-year-old Gamez and, with Malaga desperate to add some much-needed firepower to their attack, they could offer him in part-exchange to land Bendtner.

Locally-born Gamez has been with Malaga since joining as a youth player in 2000 and made his senior debut in 2005.
