Valencia crush Inter 4-0

Jonathan Viera grabbed a brace as Valencia beat Inter 4-0 in the International Champions Cup on Sunday.

Ever Banega and Jonas were also on the mark as Los Che set up a Tuesday clash with Premier League outfit Everton in Miami, while Inter will face Juventus in the preceding match that night.

Banega put the Spanish side ahead as early as the seventh minute when his shot found the top corner, with Viera doubling the advantage on 35 minutes following a Banega corner.

Ten minutes after the restart Jonas made it 3-0 when he ran through unchallenged and rounded goalkeeper Samir Handovic, while Viera capped a fine night for Miroslav Djukic’s men in stoppage time after Jonas’ free-kick had been blocked.

Boss Djukic said afterwards he was pleased with his players and that life at Valencia must move on after striker Roberto Soldado’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

“He [Soldado] is a great player but he is no longer with us and we have to keep moving forward.

“We have a great team without him and don’t just depend on Soldado’s ability. We depend on our team to succeed and we had a good result today,” he told reporters.
