Valencia captain Ricardo Costa says his team are targeting a trophy in the 2013-14 campaign despite some disappointing pre-season defeats.
The Portuguese international defender, currently on tour with Los Che in the United States, told the club’s official website he is optimistic Miroslav Djukic’s team can challenge for at least one major honour.
“We have put together a very strong group that is capable of winning a trophy next year. This is one of the great clubs and that is why we are here [in the United States], to show the value and worth of the Valencia brand.
“Valencia is known throughout the world and people know about our club and our players. We want to win things and are preparing ourselves for a season in which there will be many fights ahead for the top places in the table,” maintained the experienced 32-year-old.
