Kaka continues specialised work

Ricky Kaka’s attempts to convince Carlo Ancelotti to work with him next season reportedly hinge on a specialised training recovery programme.

The Brazilian has been reported through the summer as in the new Coach’s plans for next term, if he can prove his level of fitness and form once more, having struggled for both in recent seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In an attempt to respond, the player has begun a specialised form of recovery work in the gym aimed at improving the receptor nerves in his left knee, which has been operated on twice in recent years.

Focusing through a method called proprioception, the 31-year-old will work to specific exercises on specifically unsteady surfaces to improve the strength and fluidity of the joint in a bid to recapture his pace on the pitch.

Travelling out with the rest of the squad for the US stage of their preseason preparations, the player is reportedly set to face a final decision on his future at the club at the tour’s conclusion on August 11.
