Cristian Tello has claimed that competition for place in the Barcelona first-team will ‘motivate’ him next season.
The young forward was on the scoresheet as the Blaugrana defeated Norwegian side Valerenga 7-0 on Saturday evening.
And the 21-year-old has insisted that he is up for the challenge, whilst also revealing his change from No.37 to No.20.
“I’m aware that there will be a lot of competition, but I’m confident in my possibilities,” he told the club’s official website.
“It motivates me.
“I asked to keep the number 37 but I wasn’t allowed to keep it because it’s a reserve-side number.
“I’m hoping the number 20 brings me luck.”
