Kaka left in Madrid because…

Ricky Kaka has been left out of Real Madrid’s squad to face Lyon as Carlo Ancelotti wants him on a specified training programme.

The Brazilian was one of three notable exclusions from Madrid’s party travelling out today to face the Ligue 1 side in a preseason friendly.

Whilst Gonzalo Higuain has flown out to Italy to complete a move to Napoli and Fabio Coentrao’s absence is explained as down to personal reasons, it was initially unclear why the 31-year-old was absent, having played in Sunday’s match at Bournemouth.

However, AS believe that new Coach Ancelotti is keen to return the attacking midfielder to full fitness and that staying at Valdebebas this week instead of flying out to France would help the player in this objective.

Kaka has struggled for physical form in recent seasons with Madrid and last year when out of Jose Mourinho’s plans only managed 994 minutes spread across 19 League games.
