Italian giants Inter are showing interest in Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya.
The Serie A club are on the verge of signing another defender in Mauricio Isla from Juventus but, according to Todomercado, they could also make a bid for Montoya.
The 22-year-old [pictured, right] was understood to be close to renewing his contract with La Blaugrana, although his agent Josep Maria Orobitg claims it has been put on hold.
“The boy has a contract for one more year and at the moment we are not negotiating a new agreement.
“It will be the club that decides the player’s future, even though he is held in great esteem by [Barca boss] Tito Vilanova.
“In Italy they were saying four months ago that Inter were after Montoya, but if [Massimo] Moratti wants him then he’ll have to contact Barcelona.
“His contract runs until 2014 but personally I have had no contact from the club about a possible renovation.
“I repeat, if Inter want him they must first contact Barcelona.”
