United offer €30m for Fabregas

Manchester United have reportedly offered €30m to Barcelona to sign Cesc Fabregas this summer.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been linked in some quarters this summer with an exit from the Camp Nou, amid indifferent patches of form during his two years so far back with the Catalans.

United, who have missed out on reported target Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich at the weekend, are reportedly keen to turn their attention back to Fabregas.

Seen in early reports on Monday as prepared to front up as much as €40m, AS report since that the English League champions have now put forward an initial offer €30m.

Whilst United’s believed preparedness in other outlets to push to €40m matches the price Barca paid Arsenal for the No 4 in 2011, The Independent say that it will not tempt the Blaugrana into a sale, as they are not willing to part company with the player.

Similarly, it is seen that Fabregas’ former side Arsenal will also represent an obstacle for United, with it believed that as part of their original deal to return Fabregas to Barca, a clause was included that gives them first option on buying back the player, should Barca decide to sell.
