Madrid to cash in on Garay

Real Madrid are set to receive a €10m payment from Manchester United, with the English side reportedly close to his capture.

The Argentine, who was sold by Los Blancos to Benfica in 2011, has impressed in Portugal and been increasingly linked with a transfer this summer.

Both United and Barcelona have been speculated during the past few months as considering moves, whilst Madrid were also linked with bringing the defender back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Whilst it is believed that David Moyes’ side are closing in on a move for a reported €20m fee, Madrid will capitalise on any deal reached.

Los Merengues still hold 50 per cent of the player’s registration, so will be due €10m from Benfica, should the 26-year-old move for the amount currently believed.
