City offer €23m for Negredo, but…

Manchester City have reportedly offered Sevilla €23m to sign Alvaro Negredo, but President Jose Maria del Nido is asking for more.

The two clubs have reportedly been in ‘informal negotiations’ over the striker’s possible transfer this summer, on from having already transferred Jesus Navas a couple of months ago.

Whilst there have been no offers put forward in writing, it is understood that relations between the two teams are ‘fluid’ and that conversations regarding Negredo have credibly involved discussions on price.

However, even with a majority cash offer of €23m for the 27-year-old seen as having been made recently, City have apparently been told by Sevilla President Del Nido to up their offer further.

It is understood that the President is asking for €28m, with the intention in reality of pulling in a minimum of €25m for their leading scorer from each of the last three seasons.

Sevilla are reported as keen to resolve Negredo’s future before heading out to South America on Wednesday for the start of their preseason tour of the continent.

The Spain international, who is currently expected to travel with Los Nervionenses, has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Manuel Pellegrini’s new team.
