Morales: Malaga face tough task

Malaga midfielder Pedro Morales believes it is going to be difficult to repeat the club’s exploits of last season.

The Chilean international [pictured, left] is with his teammates in Bitburg, Germany, at the club’s pre-season training camp and, appearing at an early Press conference on Wednesday, gave his thoughts on the his hopes for the 2013-14 campaign.

“Some players have left and others have come in. Important players have departed but with those who have arrived and the enthusiasm of the youngsters, as well as the way the new boss [Bernd Schuster] works, we can do well.

“We’ll fight to do great things next season but it will be difficult to repeat last year,” he told reporters.

The 28-year-old joined Malaga last winter from parent club Dinamo Zagreb after being sent out on loan to Universidad de Chile, scoring three goals and providing three assists in his seven games of an injury-ravaged end to the campaign.

His ability form dead-ball situation was something that particularly caught the eye.

“It’s something I’m always trying to improve upon because I want to be a part of this project in every sense,” he admitted.

“Last season, despite the injury complications, I felt very comfortable. Hopefully I won’t have any problems this time around.”
