Coke: We will respect Negredo

Coke Andujar has affirmed that Sevilla will still respect Alvaro Negredo if he sees that a move away from the club falls through.

The striker was confirmed at the start of the summer by President Jose Maria del Nido as having asked for a transfer, amid interest from Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.

Whilst both clubs may be looking elsewhere now, Negredo has today reiterated that he is prepared to leave, if the right offer comes in.

Should that not happen and he ends up staying at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, his status at the club will not have been affected, says one of his teammates.

“Negredo is relaxed, I’m nervous to ask him all the time,” began Coke to reporters today.

“If a transfer does not go through, he is in a club where he is respected, he is one of the captains and will remain so, scoring goals and being a reference point.”

The defender turned his attention to the recent number of arrivals at the club.

“The truth is that the signings made are names and they are players with desire, like me, to be part of the team.

“Jesus [Navas] is not here and I do not know if Negredo will be, nor if there will be more signings, but I see a team that is convinced to come togheter and be a team to excite the fans even more so.

“Carlos Bacca’s arrival? I have not seen much of him but I am told that he is quick, he is strong and scores a lot of goals. Therefore it is good.

“Any signing that arrives, if it is to replace Negredo, then it will be difficult because he has given a lot to Sevilla, and has been a reference in attack in every game, but Bacca may not come as his replacement, but rather to work alongside him.”
