Real Sociedad are one of the clubs interested in England international goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to the the Daily Mail.
The Stoke City stopper is likely to be sent out on loan again this season, with Bosnia and Herzegovina star Asmir Begovic now likely to remain at the Britannia Stadium after reported interest from Liverpool.
Butland, 20, played last term on loan at Birmingham City and may have to bide his time in order to get a chance to play regularly in the Premier League, and the player’s agent Gary Mellor says he could now look for a fresh start elsewhere, including Spain.
“When I was in Barcelona a couple of Spanish clubs wanted to talk to me about taking Jack,” Mellor told 6 Towns Radio.
'We have to weigh up all the possibilities and I have to keep him playing, so if Asmir is still here on September 2 I'm hopeful that Jack isn't. I don't see him sitting on the bench at Stoke City.
“I have to keep Jack playing so that his international ambitions are on track and he continues to develop.”
It appears new Potters’ boss Mark Hughes has several options for the No 1 jersey, with Thomas Sorensen also willing to wait for his chance, while Real Sociedad are understood to be prepared to give Buckland the opportunity to make his name in La Liga.
Although Buckland is yet to make an official first team appearance for Stoke he does possess one England international cap, having played the first half of a friendly with Italy in Berne in August 2012 after Joe Hart was ruled out with a back injury.
