Del Nido calm on Negredo

Sevilla President Jose Maria del Nido has asserted no offers have come in for Alvaro Negredo, who he expects will take a full part in preseason.

The striker has been linked with a move away this summer and even, as the President confirmed himself, has asked to leave the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, amid rumoured interest from Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.

However, on from last week’s comments on the situation, Del Nido has made clear his confidence that the 27-year-old will likely be staying.

“There has been no change in the situation with Negredo,” affirmed Del Nido to reporters today.

“No English or Spanish club has been in communication and Negredo is training with his teammates and has three years left on his contract.

“There has been no offers, from Manchester City nor Benicarlo. If you want to publish what you do, then do so.

“I have complete peace of mind, [we have him for] the trip out to Costa Ballena [for preseason from tomorrow], he has a room number, and also a ticket for [the preseason trip out to] South America.”
