Bartra: I’ll learn from newcomer

Barcelona defender Marc Bartra says he will learn from anyone the club brings in to play in central defence.

The Catalans have been constantly linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Thiago Silva this summer and, although he is yet to agree terms on a new deal, the European Under-21 champion refuses to be worried about his future at the Camp Nou.

“If a centre-back arrives then I’ll learn everything I can from him. Then, if anything changes, we’ll analyse the situation when we come to it.

“There’s a lot of competition at a club like Barca and this team includes some of the best players in the world, so I know these things can happen,” Bartra told Catalan TV channel Esport 3.

Although Bartra’s attitude will please boss Tito Vilanova, it is likely the youngster may be loaned out in the case of a new arrival as he will be behind Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol and Javier Mascherano in the pecking order.
