Former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal could complete his move to Monaco next week, reports in the French Press have claimed.
The veteran full-back was released from his contract at Camp Nou this summer after 18 months of the sidelines following a liver transplant.
L’Equipe though, believe that the 33-year-old is likely to join Claudio Ranieri’s side at some point next week.
One sticking point however, is the fact that the player wants a two-year deal whilst the Ligue 1 club would rather offer a one-year contract, with the option of a further year.
Abidal left Monaco in 2002 to join Lille.
