Jose Maria del Nido says Sevilla have not received an offer from Manchester City for Alvaro Negredo, whilst having rejected one from Atletico Madrid.
Yesterday saw the President assert that Atleti’s chances of signing the 27-year-old this summer were waning, as reports suggested that talks with City officials had subsequently started up again.
Whilst rumours today continue to suggest that the Premier League side are looking at the striker, alongside Tottenham Hotspur, Del Nido has made clear that nothing official has happened in recent days.
“There has been no change. Sevilla have an number that will either be met or he will be playing at Sevilla,” Del Nido told reporters today.
“It is the same as yesterday, there have been no offers from England and Atletico had an inadequate one rejected more than 10 days ago.
“The player is today still with Sevilla. Manchester City have not made an offer for him.
“If he stays here then it will be with the enthusiasm and might with which he has always been here as a player.”
