Vitolo happy for Sevilla move

Victor Machin has reflected on his delight at signing for Sevilla and explained his decision to change his ‘known as’ name for next season.

On from completing a €3m transfer from Las Palmas, the versatile winger was presented to the media today.

“I arrive with the greatest possible excitement, with much enthusiasm to work and to try to contribute the most I can to my new team,” enthused the 23-year-old, better known as Vitolo, at his presentation today.

“Both [sporting director] Monchi and the President [Jose Maria del Nido] were the biggest ones to move for me, and since they have shown a lot of confidence and support, I am very happy to be here.

“There were rumours of interest from Betis, but from all the offers I received, I felt the enthusiasm of this club for me and I have come the biggest there is in Seville.

“I’ve not come to replace anyone, I am a new player and different.”

The player also made clear that intends to be called ‘Victor’ from now on, rather than ‘Vitolo’.

“I start a new phase in my career, I come to a new city, a new team and I would like to be called that.”
