According to ESPN, Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara has decided his future lies with Manchester United.
The report claims a Barca source has revealed the 22-year-old Spanish international is keen to try his luck with the Premier League champions and could even be unveiled as early as the end of this week.
Red Devils’ boss David Moyes is due to hold his first Press conference on Friday following his appointment as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor, and the English club would like this to coincide with Thiago’s arrival at Old Trafford.
It is believed the only obstacle in the way of any transfer is the player’s insistence on a clause in his contract that stipulates he can move on for a set fee in the event he does not play a specific number of games.
This is understood to be the same €18m figure that would allow Thiago to move to United from the Camp Nou.
