Jose Maria del Nido has commented that it is very unlikely that Atletico Madrid will be able to afford to sign Alvaro Negredo this summer.
Los Colchoneros were seen as the striker’s preferred destination this summer, having informed Sevilla of his intention to leave them.
However, on from reports that Atleti and Sevilla were stalling in negotiations over what player the capital club may send over to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan as part of a move for Negredo, Del Nido has indicated that he has lost patience.
“I think it is very difficult to see Atletico Madrid signing him, the percentage chance is zero,” the Sevilla President told reporters today.
“Indeed, we have had better offers come in for the player and we have not valued those.”
It is believed that Del Nido has also reopened negotiations over Negredo with Manchester City’s Txiki Begiristain.
