‘Toulalan will leave this week’

Jeremy Toulalan’s agent has explained that the midfielder wants to leave Malaga and that he could be out as soon as this week.

The Frenchman has been strongly linked with a move to Atletico Madrid this summer, whilst Rennes and Monaco are also reported as having shown recent interest.

Despite the latter two reportedly disrupting Atleti’s negotiations, with preseason starting imminently, his representative expects a resolution to his future soon.

“Jeremy is in Monaco on holiday and he, who prefers to be distant from the Press, has authorised me to convey his wish to leave Malaga,” Michael Manuello explained to AS today.

“Why? For personal reasons and, above all, for the fact that the club’s sporting project has taken a strong turn in the last two years.

“This week we will hopefully determine his future.

“He has enjoyed the affection of the fans and what was achieved athletically, but during the turbulent era the leaders promised him that so long as he endured, when he wanted to go, there would be no impediment.

“Now that time has come. Jeremy trusts the word of the directors and we expect a solution to be reached soon.”
