Andres Iniesta was critical of Dutch referee Bjorn Kuipers’ performance in Spain’s 3-0 Confederations Cup final defeat to Brazil.
The Spain midfielder believed there were too many interruptions signalled by the official throughout the game, although he did praise the performance of opponents Brazil.
“There were a lot of stoppages and that was something we already knew we might come across, but the referee has to draw the line somewhere,” Iniesta told gathered media.
“However, we were up against a strong side that played better than us and got the small details right.
“We tried hard but it wasn’t to be. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, so
therefore we just have to accept it,” he lamented.
