Agent: No Villarreal-Gilardino move

Alberto Gilardino’s agent has dismissed claims that he has held talks with Villarreal over a possible move this summer.

A report in Il Secolo XIX suggested that the 30-year-old’s representative Beppe Bozzo had already held talks with the newly promoted Primera Division side over a possible move out to La Liga this summer.

However, he has denied doing so on behalf of his client who is currently with the Italian national team at the Confederations Cup.

“There has been no contact at all with them,” Bozzo declared to Sport Italia today.

“At this moment in time I can deny all of those stories.

“Gilardino’s future has yet to be defined.”

Inter are believed in negotiations with the club that hold his registration, Genoa, over a deal, with Bologna, who loaned him last season, said to be refusing to pay the Grifone’s asked price.
