Former Barcelona and Real Madrid attacker Luis Figo believes that Lionel Messi and Neymar can form a superb partnership for the Blaugrana.
The Camp Nou club announced the signing of the Brazilian youngster last month, but many sceptics insist that the 21-year-old and the Balon d'Or winner are too similar to succeed.
However, the ex-Portugal international has claimed that the two forwards can strike up a rapport on the pitch.
“Great players always understand each other,” he told reporters in Venezuela. “If they don't get on it won't be because of football.”
Figo then commented on the Confederations Cup, currently being played in Brazil.
“In theory Spain and Brazil are the favourites. But obviously in practice it can be very different.
“Let's see what happens.”
