As Barcelona push for a decision from Thiago Alcantara, reports in England are that he is negotiating with Manchester United.
The midfielder, who has just returned from international success at the European Championship with the Spanish Under-21 side, is available until the end of July on a reduced buyout clause of €18m.
Due to having failed to meet a specific number of appearances during the last season, the player is seen as open to leaving, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Bayern Munich all reportedly interested.
Reports this week suggest that United hold the advantage, with Sky Sports running the line that the 22-year-old is in talks already regarding the finer points to an agreement, including salary.
Meanwhile, Barca officials are reportedly pushing the midfielder to inform them of a decision as soon as possible, so they can take appropriate action in the market themselves.
The Catalans are believed still hopeful that Thiago will resolve to stay for next season.
