Benfica have seemingly distanced themselves from any move to bring back Fabio Coentrao from Real Madrid this summer.
The Lisbon outfit were linked with making a move for their former full-back, who they sold to Madrid in July 2011.
However, in referencing that original transfer, the club intimated in a statement that they will not be looking to re-sign the 25-year-old.
“It is good to remember that the player was sold two years ago to Real Madrid for €30m,” read Benfica’s statement in reaction to rumours.
Coentrao has otherwise been linked with Monaco.
