Former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal has revealed he has received several offers since leaving the Catalans just over two weeks ago.
The French international fought back from a liver transplant to return to playing in April this year – replacing Gerard Pique for the last 20 minutes of a 5-0 home win over Real Mallorca – but has since been told he has no future at the Camp Nou.
Even so, Abidal told Le10sport he has not been short of proposals to continue his career.
“At the moment I haven’t received any firm proposals but I am in contact with various clubs in Spain and France.
“Fortunately a lot of teams have shown interest but I need to think about where I will be going.
“Monaco could be a good destination for me and my family. It’s the club where I started [my career] and isn’t far from Barcelona,” said the 33-year-old.
