Schuster to pen five-year Malaga deal

Malaga will hand Bernd Schuster a five-year contract to replace Manuel Pellegrini at La Rosaleda.

Los Blanquiazules are set to announce Schuster’s appointment once the fine details of Pellegrini’s release to Manchester City have been ironed out, and will show their commitment to the German with a long-term deal.

Reports in Spain say agreement was reached in Istanbul this week, where Malaga general secretary Vicente Casado travelled to meet the former Xerez, Real Madrid, Levante, Getafe and Besiktas boss.

The 53-year-old has been without a club since leaving Besiktas in early in 2011 but Los Blanquiazules are believed to have been impressed by the work done at his previous clubs, his knowledge of Spanish football and his enhanced media presence.
