Gago: No offers for me yet

Fernando Gago has confirmed that his future rests in Valencia’s hands, as he has yet to receive any offers for next season.

The Argentine was shipped out of Mestalla on a short-term loan deal to Velez Sarsfield in January, just six months after joining Los Che from Roma.

Reports this week have been that Valencia are looking to negotiate cancelling his contract this summer, but even so, today the player has admitted he is anticipating a return to Spain, at least for the time being.

“For the injuries I have suffered this has been the worst season of my career, because I have been hardly able to play at all,” Gago reflected to Argentine radio this week.

“I came to move forward with Velez. It is not that I feel indebted, because injuries can happen, but I have a lot of frustration left.

“When my contract ends I have to go back to Valencia. I do not close the door to anyone, but it depends on them.

“From Boca Juniors nobody has contacted me. I am trying to stay outside of this, to date, I have had no calls.”
