Falcao: Monaco project long-term

Radamel Falcao has insisted he has signed for Monaco long-term and not just as a stepping stone to a bigger club.

The former Atletico Madrid man says plans to be with the Ligue 1 outfit a long time, thus ruling out the possibility of joining Real Madrid in the next transfer window or even next season.

“The Monaco project is long-term and the club wants to reach the highest level of European football, so I’ll be there for some time.

“We are all waiting for some class players to arrive and I’m sure they’ll be here in the coming weeks,” he told Antena 3.

Falcao then told why he had plumped for Monaco instead of some of Europe’s more famous outfits.

“I’m going to become a key figure in the team here, although it’s true this is not a team with the most history in Europe or with the capacity to reach these competitions,” he admitted.
