Man Utd still keen on Fabregas

According to The Sun, Manchester United have not given up hope of signing Cesc Fabregas and will battle Arsenal for his signature.

New boss David Moyes is particularly keen on the Barcelona midfielder, who was out of favour at the Camp Nou for much of last season, although it is understood Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has first refusal on his former player.

Fabregas has consistently stated he is happy in the Catalan capital, yet Moyes is keen to test his loyalty to La Blaugrana and is prepared to back it up with a bid to the tune of €50m.

Wenger would be first in the queue if Fabregas gave any indication he would be prepared to reignite his career back in England, but with the Frenchman also understood to be interested in both Wayne Rooney and Gonzalo Higuain it would eat sizeably into his transfer budget.

Even so, Arsenal have made it known they will be major players in the transfer market this summer and, with Fabregas due to talk over his future with Barca boss Tito Vilanova in the next few days they will be observing United’s stance with interest.
