Celta Vigo have confirmed the appointment of Luis Enrique as Coach to replace Abel Resino on a two-year contract.
The Galicians, who avoided relegation on the final day of the season, confirmed Resino’s departure by mutual consent on Saturday afternoon before quickly being linked with Enrique as a replacement.
On from those rumours, Celta have released a statement on their official website confirming the 43-year-old former Barcelona B and Roma boss at Balaidos on a two-year contract.
“Luis Enrique is now the new Coach of Celta Vigo following an agreement between the club and Coach for the next two seasons,” read Celta’s posting on the news.
“The former international footballer has led Barcelona B and Roma in recent seasons and comes backed by a cheerful and offensive game, a firm and unequivocal commitment to youth policy and a great competitiveness that he has instilled in his teams.”
