David Villa relaxed over Barca future

Barcelona striker David Villa maintains he is relaxed over his future at the club despite speculation he may be sold this summer.

Appearing on Antena 3’s El Hormiguero 3.0 programme on Monday night, El Guaje was questioned about whether he will still be with La Blaugrana next season.

“We’ll see what happens. From the outside it can seem like one thing but the truth is I am very relaxed about it. It’s a question of understanding [with Barcelona],” said Villa, referring to supposed interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

“At the moment I am happy because I’m going with the national team. It’s a change in mentality and after that we’ll see what happens.”

Villa is part of Vicente del Bosque’s Spain squad that will take part in the Confederations Cup in Brazil from June 15 to 30, and insists La Roja are there to pick up the trophy.

“Hopefully we can win it. That would be beautiful. It’s something we haven’t won yet and it would complete the full set after the World Cup and the European Championship.”
