‘Madrid tension similar at Inter’

Thiago Motta has reflected on Real Madrid’s issues this season under Jose Mourinho, intimating that a similar atmosphere of tension existed at Inter.

Before moving across to Spain in 2010, Mourinho spent two years with the Nerazzurri and in the second of those won the League, Cup and Champions League treble.

Motta, who was a part of that team, reflected this week on the Portuguese’ methods and suggested that what is seen at Madrid is nothing new.

“I'm familiar with the agitation in the Madrid dressing room,” Motta told Onda Cero this week.

“Maybe it's a strategy of his, because the same thing happened to us at Inter.

“It was different, because there wasn't so much talk – things did not leave the dressing room as much.”

Motta could see his current Paris Saint-Germain Coach Carlo Ancelotti replace Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“He's a great manager. He's done such a great job – we have a phenomenal atmosphere in the dressing room.

“Out of all of the managers I've had, he's different one-to-one. He's more natural.”
