Pellegrini: Future set on Monday

Manuel Pellegrini has promised to clarify where his future lies from Monday, once his time with Malaga draws to a close.

The Chilean is leaving the Anchovies at the end of the season, which is after tomorrow’s trip up to the Camp Nou to face Barcelona in Week 38.

On from indicating that a verbal agreement with Manchester City has been reached, the 59-year-old has made clear his future will be clarified on Monday.

“On my future I will speak next week. On the Monday I will announce where,” Pellegrini told reporters today in his final pre-game Press conference as Malaga Coach.

“Tomorrow I finish my contract with Malaga and from Monday I will talk about my future.

“What do I take from Malaga? It has been very special, I didn’t come here just for a holiday, I came with the ambition to stay for many years.

“I have not been able to continue. Today my desire to run a sporting project that is important and ambitious has taken me away from Malaga.”

The Coach then looked ahead to Saturday evening’s test against League champions Barca.

“It will be a tough match for both, even though the two teams have achieved their goals for the season, the two still have things to fight for.

“We’re determined that Malaga plays a great game against a major rival.

“Good to say goodbye at the Camp Nou? My team has always been bold when playing in any stadium. The farewell was last week at La Rosaleda in front of our fans. That was the greatest, whatever happens in Barcelona, that will be important.

“The send-off I received from the fans at La Rosaleda last week, winning against Deportivo and achieving European qualification next season, was more than I could have hoped for.”
